She's Somebody's Daughter began as an awareness initiative in 2013 with this comprehensive website and billboards in three states, starting a national conversation about the issue of pornography and sexual exploitation – two sides of the same coin.
In February of 2014, SSD was incorporated as Tammy Stauffer, advocate for the oppressed, stepped into the role of executive director. SSD is registered with the IRS as a 501(C)(3) corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
We use billboards, our website and social media, and offer presentations to educate the general public about the issues related to pornography, sex trafficking and sexual abuse. We are governed by a board of directors and comprised of staff members and volunteer teams. Our headquarters are in Harrisburg, PA.
We partner and work with concerned citizens, business leaders, churches, and partner ministries across the country who care about the effects thatsexual exploitation is having on women, men, and children.
Also in 2013, we launched outreach and intervention initiatives in Central PA to women who’ve been sexually exploited.
History of SSD: Before branching off to further develop SSD and OurBE outreach initiative of She's Somebody's Daughter, Tammy worked as project manager alongside of Steve Siler, producer of a DVD addressing pornography, called ‘Somebody’s Daughter’.
